It's just great for young men today...to get a real taste of "old-world" values, language and just plain old fashioned common sense. Our more mature and experienced brethren learn from the young...just as the younger brethren learn a lot from the older fellows. In our particular lodge: GOLD COAST DAYLIGHT # 519, which meets at Burleigh Heads, we cater for those men who are able to join us on every third Monday morning of each month, so it's an ideal Lodge for self-employed men, night shift workers or retired men. Masonic rituals are derived from ancient Stonemasons temple-building principles...so through these fascinating rituals, you will learn how to build that great temple...that is your life. You have probably heard some Masonic words and phrases used in everyday conversation. Expressions like: Is he "on the level?"; now we're "square"; and you've heard of people "getting the third degree"?...well...those sayings all have their roots in ancient stone masonry, and in modern times, in Freemasonry...in which we practice a symbolic version of the actual stonemasons of ancient times..especially the ones who were involved in constructing ancient temples, eg: Solomon's Temple.
